Famous street food in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. This pakora is more on the crispy side, hence called Gatti Pakodi.
1 cup Besan/ bengal gram flour
½ cup rice flour
½ tsp ginger garlic paste
½ tsp coriander powder
2 onions thinly sliced
1-2 Green chilli finely chopped
few curry leaves
Oil for deep frying
Place all the above ingredients in a mixing bowl and keep aside. Heat oil in a pan for deep frying. When the oil is moderately hot, add a table spoon to the above mixture. Mix together and leave it for 5 minutes. The moisture from the onions should be enough to make a loose dough, if not add 1-2 tsp water. Do not add more water as the pakodi will become soft.
Using your fingers drop small amount of the dough in hot oil. Reduce flame to medium and fry till golden brown. Remove and drain on absorbent paper.
Serve as a snack with a cup of tea/coffee.
