Sounds stupid but true. Researcher Kamal Meattle of Paharpuri Business Centre (New Delhi) reveals that all you need is 3 common indoor plants to provide you all the fresh air indoor and be healthy. Mr Meattle lives in Delhi and found out that the air in his hometown Delhi was killing him. He became allergic to the air around him. His lung capacity had gone down to 70%. That is when he started his research (19 years ago) and found three plants mentioned below to increase oxygen, filter air and improve general health.
1. Areca Palm (Chrysalidocarpus lutescens) – Cleanses the air during the day. He calls it the living room plant.
2. Mother-in-law’s tongue (Sansevieria trifasciata)- The bedroom plant converts CO2 to O2 at night.
3. Money Plant (Epipremnum aureum) – The specialist plant removes toxins and volatile chemicals.
He tried and tested these plants for years at his office. Mr Meattle convinced of his research suggests, if you have sufficient quantities of these plants you could live in an air tight bubble and as long as the plants are living you’d have enough fresh air to live. The Government of India has rated his building the healthiest building in Delhi.
