Dates on packaged food
The date on the food packages determine the length of time a food should be kept before it begins to spoil or before the food becomes less nutritive.
Best before: The date on the package food determines the freshness of the food and for how long before it loses its quality (colour, taste, taste or flavour). Food that has passed its best before date may still be perfectly safe but the quality may diminish.
Use by or expiry date: The package food should not be eaten after the use-by date for health and safety reasons.
