A stuffed animal zoo

Tibor Marko, a Slovak pensioner has opened an unconventional type of zoo to the public. Instead of live animals, his zoo hosts stuffed versions including a lion, elephant, snake, monkeys, teddy bears and even a dinosaur. It began when one of his friends gave him an old teddy bear and several others. “That’s when I thought the old toys could bring joy to other children”, Marko said. A small public garden near his house hosts the animals although there are no cages, fences, entry fees or closing hours. It’s been a big success with children young and old with many contributing their own furry friends to the cause.
