Imagine a gigantic fork 8m high sticking out in the middle of a Lake. Yes it’s true. This stainless steel fork stands upright in the middle of Lake Geneva, Vevey in Western Switzerland. The fork went up in 1995 to mark the 10th anniversary of the Vevey’s Food Museum. This was created by Swiss artist Jean-Pierre Zaugg as a temporary exhibit and still laughs at the number of controversies it created. The huge fork came down in 1997 for aesthetic reasons and following a petition in 2008, became a permanent exhibit.
