My friend

Poignant little hands stretching out at the break of first sunlight
The hair on his skin on end gathering warmth for the start of the day
His husky breath taking shape as he looks about the world around him
His toys lay on the side of the crib begging to be played with

The nose peaks out of his room as he understands the scents in the air
His mind wanders this way and that, this way and that
Crawling and subsequently walking across the wooded floor panels
He comes and sits next to his companions in their chairs.
